i’m the invisible man (huh) i’m the invisible man (yeah)

Woo hoo, that’s Abe Simpson beneath.

Back in my ZX Spectrum ages (I was probably less than seven years old back then) I used to program its flavour of Basic (needless to say, rather cute flavour it was). I even made some crappy games with it. I never let nobody near them, and, as you can clearly see, most of humanity is sane at the moment. It would be different otherwise.

Then I discovered some text adventure mastering tool (most likely it was GAC, but I can’t quite remember) and played with it a bit. Even pushed some buttons. My masterpiece was almost three locations big and comprised breathtaking amount of 1 (one) puzzle of “open the chest” species. Now it is lost forever, thank whatever deity you praise.

Then, in my early PC era I mostly slackered and played works of other people, once in a while trying to make something with C++ (with no significant results but some lines of code and some metric tons of frustration).

Then I’ve found AGS, played with it for a while and bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. I made some crappy games using it. You don’t want to play them.

I also made one awful hard-coded IF (in Russian). Its name can be (remotely) translated as “Shit Thrasher” and you don’t (I said you DON’T) want to see it (or its remake).

Not to mention my affairs with Inform, which yielded such masterpieces as HoundHouse (interactive essay about negative factors of alcoholic beverages) and Shit Museum: Mystery At The Museum Of Shits, both stuck in beta testing phase forever. Maybe I’ll revive HoundHouse at some point, though.LIES

Now it’s 2009. Maybe I’ll write more in this blog this year. I have to practice my English skills. Hence I have to read more (I bought one book by Ambrose Bierce, and downloaded some other books for that) and to write more (that’s what this blog is for. That and bitching about my life).
